Different ways that nurses get disrespected.

A group of professionals who do not get the respect that they deserve would have to be nurses. Nurses can work in a number of places, but no matter where they work there is always going to be someone that is disrespectful. There are three different levels for nurses. The first level is a certified nursing assistant. The second level is a licensed practical nurse. The third level is a registered nurse. There is disrespect between each level and the people that they work for or with. Nurse Belinda Ndwandwe at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Kentucky says "The nurses are going on strike due to respect, or the lack of it, for nurses." (Bonfield, Tom. Ms. Ingram, a nurse at St. Elizabeth's hospital, states "Nurses are quitting not because they are not dedicated, but because we feel we are not appreciated."

Registered nurses work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness. When providing direct patient care, they observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress in patients. Registered nurses also develop and manage nursing care plans, instruct patients and their families in proper care, and help individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health.
