Are cell phones safe enough for kids? Many people are asking this question since there are so many parents who purchase cell phones for their kids. Walt Disney Company had launched a Disney Mobile, a cell phone mobile made for kids and their parents. The Disney Mobile would allow children to play Disney games, get Disney ring tones, and get Disney wallpaper. This cell phone will also have a security feature called a "global positioning system". The global positioning system is made to keep tabs on children locations. It is also used by parents to be able to control the cell phone use by a PC. (Business Week, 2006) In my essay I am going to discuss the problems that Walt Disney Company had in reference to launching this cell phone and the research that they had to produce to be able to market their Disney Mobile. I am also going to identify the parties involved in the research and their methods.

Business research is a systematic inquiry that provides information to guide managerial decisions. It is a process of planning acquiring, analyzing, and disseminating relevant data, information, and insights to decision makers in ways that mobilize the organization to take appropriate actions that in turn will maximize business performance. (Cooper & Schindler, 2006)In 2000, there was a rumor stating that mobile phones was a health hazard to children. It was said that the cell phones could cause the children to have cancer or other neurological disorders. Disney then held back their marketing for the phones until research was done. Anthony Sprauve, A Disney Mobile spokesperson, stated that the Food & Drug Administration had no concrete evidence showing any danger from cell phones and Disney is relying in the FDA.
