Dad, You Were There Dad, I thank you for being there When we wanted or needed you.

For all the times we needed a ride To or from Scout camp, You were there, instead of someone else.

For all the Scout meeting nights, you were there, instead of someone else.

You could have said "You can't go tonight, or I'm too tired," or have other excuses, but you got us there.

You were there, when we wanted or needed your there, regardless of the weather conditions, you were there.

You were there, when we wanted or needed your help, For all the times I had car problems, You were there.

When we needed money for school or other things, you were there.

When Evan wanted or needed your help, you were there.

When we needed a ride or to move to or from college, you were there, toting all our stuff in or out of the dorms, you were there.

you could have said try " to get a ride," but you were there, when you could have stayed at home, doing other things.

When we needed to go to Mass, You were there.

Like careless father's, You could have said, "I don't care," but that was Never the case, because you were there.

And so, for all the times you cared to be there, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for you being there.
