Average essay
I don't understand what's so good about this essay that makes it top in its category. It's kind of interesting, but rather short for what it is trying to describe.- 21/12/2002

Very interesting essay
This essay is very revealing to me. I never knew that Harry Potter would encounter objection due to its 'magical' content. I thought that kind of hysteria existed only in times of the Salem Witch Trials, or the Middle Ages. This essay explains this negative perception of the Potter books in a very eloquent way, and I agree with the writer than kids should be allowed 'to see wonder in literature'. Nice piece of writing!- 12/12/2002

Overall quality of essay
What is most well done in this essay is the efficient and consistent use of example to support the claims the writer makes about the novel. Only criticism: Since this is an essay, it should have a strong and powerful conclusion. Whenever an essay is graded, the conclusion is the last memory the teacher of evaluator has of your essay. That's why it is important to have a well-written, thourough conclusion. But the overall content of the essay is excellent.- 12/12/2002
