One of the biggest issues in the United States today seems to be gun control. Handguns should be outlawed with the exception of law enforcement purposes due to the injuries and deaths cause problems in society today. The government is constantly proposing legislation for more and more gun control. Certainly the government is not so naive to think criminals will adhere to gun control laws. There just may be an underlying motive for gun control. Gun control is based on the faulty notion that ordinary American citizens are too hazardous and ill tempered to be trusted with weapons. How would we even begin to go about confiscating all the guns in society today?

The law enforcement agencies of this country have stated that most firearm owners in the public are better armed then they are. How then, will they be able to disarm such an enormous group? If you pass a law that violates their interpretation of the second amendment you have left these people angry, and with no way out.

They will fight. Are the gun control advocates ready to take responsibility for the hundreds if not thousands of deaths that will occur? Since the law enforcement agencies already admit to their lack of ability to disarm these people, are they going to order in federal troops to take this step into a matter? It is a question that people need take into consideration when they start their crusade against the evils of firearms.
