Question (Amanda): Tell me briefly about your career path and career decisions.
Answer (Oliver): I am a self motivated entrepreneur from Alabama that took my dreams and goals seriously. I found my passion in hair fashion at young age. From that point I made it my intention to pursue this path as a career. I have been lucky to travel the world and learn from the most inspirational artists that this industry has to offer. The best part about it is that I have been able to repay that gift by teaching others.
Q: What is your background in terms of education and experience?
A: I received a Master of Education (M.Ed.), in Hair from Bumble and bumble University in New York, NY and I also studied under at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London.
Q: What is your definition of effective behavior in an organization?
A: My definition of effective behavior in an organization is to have a blend of collegial, supportive and autocratic style behavioral models. I encourage my stylist to share a spirit of teamwork by helping each other learn new techniques and want them all to succeed in what they do. At the same time I have to ensure that my stylists are trained in the most up-to-date techniques on a weekly basis to give our clients a hair experience like no other.
Q: What is your personal philosophy for managing the behavior in your organization or business? What principles guide you?
