William Shakespeare, the man who is considered to be the greatest dramatist the world has ever known and the finest poet who has written in the English language. Through his plays he was able to draw his audience into the special world of his own imagination. Shakespeare did not mean for his readers to just read his extravagant poetry, he meant them to be analyzed and studied to depth. One of the reasons as to why Shakespeare became such a well-known wordsmith was the fact that he was voracious reader. His use of language and sentence structure helped people look deeper into life. When Shakespeare was alive his plays were not "art". Young people flocked to see his plays the way they would go to movies and football games today. It is surprising to know that the plays eventually became classroom assignments, his magic art turned into required reading.

William Shakespeare was born into a middle class family in Stratford-Upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. He was born on April 23rd 1564 in a house on Henley Street, owned by his father. The date of his birth is an assumption because there are no records that indicate his both date. The assumption was made from an accepted law that said that children were to be baptized three days after birth. In the records of Holy Trinity Church it has been stated that Shakespeare was baptized on April 26th 1564; therefore, he might have been born three days earlier, April 23rd.

William Shakespeare received a marriage license on November 27th 1582 to marry Anne Hathaway. At the time of his marriage he was eighteen years old and Anne was a twenty-six year old orphan. When the wedding vows were solemnized Anne Hathaway was pregnant. William and Anne had three children. In...
