Title of Book: The Outsiders Author: S.E. Hinton Number of Pages:180 The Outsiders is about two gangs- the Greasers and the Socs, who live in a town divided by the two social classes, and the two gangs. The story is told from the point of view of Ponyboy, the young one of the gang.

In the story, Pony is pushed to a point were he does something he never he imagined he could do- kill a Soc. After the incident, Ponyboy and Johnny run off and hide in a country. In their desperation, they get more than what they bargained for and ended up saving children?s lives in a fire. At this point, they are basically caught. Johnny is hurt in the rescue and dies, and Pony keeps fighting with his brother Darry.

The main character is PonyBoy, he is basically the smallest in the gang and isn?t too much into the gang thing and fighting in the rumbles.

Pony is a normal Greaser like the rest so he?s got the typical Greaser look of all the rest. Long, slicked hair and he sports a pair of worn jeans and a T-shirt.

PonyBoy, being the main character, acts a bit different from the rest of the crowd. While the rest of the crowd is worried about being tough and being Greasers, Pony does not care so much for being a big shot. He?s basically there because he doesn?t have any parents and being Greasers is the only way that Darry and him can support themselves. Pony?s sweet side lands him a friend with a pretty Soc girl. Cherry meets Pony in a theater and quickly grows fond of Pony. Unfortunately, Greasers and Socs don?t go to together so that relationship doesn?t go...
