When one deals with customers and clients it make sense to remember that honesty is the best policy. Not following this policy can be damaging in the long run. Businesses are not wise to put their integrity on the line by being swayed by oversight. Before considering that quick dollar, ask yourself if this is the proper way to handle business. Businesses have been guilty of shortsightedness themselves for decades. Every company needs to deal with ethical and legal issues every day in normal business activities. There is a whole new set of issues that are emerging with so much business being conducted online. This paper will attempt to show how ethical, legal, and regulatory issues differ in comparison with B2C and B2B.

With the market at an all time high, every business need to have its own web site. With the increase businesses providing online markets, the demand for online and e-commerce service has evolved. Since e-commerce has matured; the World Wide Web has been introduced to new issues of ethics and legal policies that businesses and consumers must acknowledge to remain successful on the Web.

Business to consumer activities on the web, such as collecting questionable information and tracking consumer habits opens the interest of laws and ethics regarding online privacy activities. There are countries that are restrictive in terms of what kind of business and consumer information is acceptable and legal online.

All e-commerce web sites should feel obligated in providing accurate information to its users about the site policies. Government agencies that have jurisdiction and power to tax make it necessary...
