Today, there are so many addictions that children and students can get involved in. Alcohol and drugs may be the most well known addiction, but many people would not expect that gambling would be a growing addiction. Actually, gambling is the single-most growing addiction among children today. Children can gamble anything from bingo to the lottery. There are so many different options if you are gambling, and many gambling techniques do not require you to be of legal age. With it being so easy for children to get involved, gambling will continue to be the fastest growing addiction for years to come.

Over the years, gambling options have increased immensely. Gone are the days where you have to go to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or your local bookie. Now, you can gamble from the comfort of your own home. It is so easy for anyone, including children, to gamble.

It all starts with children watching their own family members, or the television. If a parent is gambling constantly and the child is watching this they can take interest to it. Even if they don't take interest, they are seeing how easy it is to win money. To a young child, watching a family member have a good time because they just won money looks like fun. The parents will save their anger from the children if they lose, so the child only sees the bright side. If you just turn on the television and do a quick scan of the channels, you will see poker, the lottery, and many other forms of gambling. Gambling has come to the forefront of our society and it is not just being used by adults anymore.
