"What advise would you give "What advise would you give our peers about staying away from cigarettes?"

Annually, more than 430,000 Americans die from smoking cigarettes. Studies have proven that smokers blow seven minutes off their lives with each cigarette; every 10 seconds, a person dies from a tobacco-related disease. Smoking costs smokers about $240 every week; for this much money, you can cover one month's car installment. Tobacco causes more deaths than car accidents, AIDS, suicides, murders, drug overdoses and fires combined. Plus, smokers kill 3,000 bystanders every year with second hand smoke.

If those statistics aren't enough to keep you from smoking, how the people around you view you, as a smoker should. Smokers display premature wrinkling of the skin, which makes a smoker look like you're being mummified. Yellowed teeth and nails combined with disgusting breath and reeking clothes and hair make people think smokers are filthy.

The hacking "hairball" cough typical of smokers irritates the most tolerant of individuals.

So keep on quitting, no matter how long it takes. Sooner or later kissing you will stop tasting like "licking a dirty ashtray." In conclusion, don't be another statistic...don't smoke cigarettes!!
