Many people play it. Every computer gamer has heard of it. Everquest is the world's number one massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). However, Everquest can not be bound to such a simple explanation. Everquest is so much more. It's a whole other world of characters, people, beauty, challenge and possibility.
Everquest is made up of a fantasy world where a person can be just about any combination of race and class they want to be. It includes an incredible mix of humans and human types to elves and variations on the elf, to a combination of the two. These include Barbarians, Dark elves, Dwarves, Erudites, Frogloks, Gnomes, Half elves, Halflings, High elves, Humans, Iksars, Ogres, Trolls, Vah shirs, and Wood elves. Each race provides a variation for each particular class. These variations include strength, wisdom, intellect, charisma, dexterity, stamina and obviously appearance.
There are many professions to follow, as well.
Everquest has magic classes, melee classes and combinations of the two, referred to as hybrids. The magic classes have a wide variety of their own. There are healers, the clerics; fighters, the wizards; illusionists, the enchanters; summoners, the magicians; mystics or medicine men, the shamans; earth children or protectors of the earth, the druids; and those on the dark side of magic, the necromancers. There are bards, the musicians of the group with songs for aiding in battle as well as healing.
There are melee classes or fighters. These are the warriors, the brute strength and weapon wielders; the monks, who forgo weapons and prefer their hands; and the rogue, the fighting class that stays in the shadows and does most of their damage using tactics like backstab.
If neither pure magic nor pure fighting is quite right, there are the hybrid classes. These professions learn their fighting...
Links and resources
Head on over to my website http://www.nullvoid.org which offers a menu that provides links to nearly every single resource relating to Everquest. I've also started linking Everquest 2 resources. The site used to be for a guild on Kane Bayle, but the guild has since evaporated out of existence. Right now, I'm just pursuing it as an underground community that does everything a guild doesn't provide. Guilds mostly focus around raiding and nothing more. Mostly, that is. Guilds expect their members to exp, to get the top level (if any), and then, in Everquest anyway, collect AA (Alternative Advancement) points, which allow further capabilities, stats and benefits, to be as good as they have time to be. Other than that, though, as I stated in my previous comment, due to the desire to be the best, and not the desire for roleplaying and other sources of entertainment, guilds don't require or expect anything more from you; just to get along with everyone else and to participate in raids; hence being active.
Hrmm, this is seeming more like a journal now. Well anyway, I am only posting this to reference my site, which provides links to many, if not all, Everquest-related resources.
