  • FGM

I agree with adeyemi. After reading your essay, to me it sounds like FGM is a sexual suppressive act upon females. Like adeyemi said, male circumcision has health benefits, not only that, at least men can still feel something. Like you essay said, women\'s sexual urges are reduced? Sounds repressive.Anyways, not a bad essay.

Final, you are absolutely totally clueless as to everything I write. I told you my letter is creative writing, which means in no way does it have to be informative. Spoon's essay is also uninformative, because he wrote it with pure opinion. Yet, he labeled it as a sports essay. Therefore he should have had this essay labeled as creative writing, or actually put some effort into it as well as research.

So all of these philosophic ideas you discuss in your paper are from your own deductions based on your experiences? Wow, you're a regular Karl Marx! "Opiate of the masses"... You must have thought up that quote yourself. When it comes to writing essays, especially persuasive ones, it is best that the author (you) cite legit sources to back their argument. Since you did not cite any hard evidence or legitimate sources, you have nothing in your essay to make a strong persuasive argument.By the way if you thought so much of Kant, then why did you not quote him in your essay??? That would have been a start. At least a better one than quoting Marx and neglecting to give him credit for his own statement.

I read your paper, and I would like to pose a thought to you. If doing good deeds for others does not make you more of a christian than does sinning make you less of a Christian?Yes faith is a huge part of Christianity, but what we do and how we live our lives is too. If we do not act as Christians than how will others know we are Christians? Some Christians even deepen their faith through good deeds. If we practice faith inwardly in silence then how can we share our Faith? How can we express our Faith? How can we grow in faith?"When man learns that righteousness comes from within his inner self, he will realize that he needs Christ, who suffered for all of mankind"I don't really understand this statement. The only way that man can learn that righteousness comes from within his inner self is if he knows Christ. Because Christ is true righteousness.I know you mean well, but reading your essay frustrated me. As Christians we need to live as Christians, we have to strive to be Christ-like, represent Christ as best we can. Follow his commandments as best we can. It almost sounded as though you believe we should disregard those commandments. Which is ridiculous. The ten commandments are not impossible to obey, but we as humans are so weak that we can not handle temptations and continuously sin, breaking those commandments. As for Martin Luther... Thats a whole subject of it's own. Yes the Church was messed up, but breaking away from it was not the answer. Plus Lutheran's issues with the Blessed Mother, that I don't get, because I heard Martin Luther had a strong devotion to her.

"It would be helpful to discuss if there are any indications in her speech which give clues as to why this particular woman was especially vulnerable to the same sort of stresses most women successfully deal with." Successfully deal with? Women of that era were just as the author said in the essay, possessions. They cooked, cleaned, gave birth, and took care of their husbands. Sadly they could never find time to be alone. The husbands, as the author said, looked after their wives as children, always in their wive's face with some suggestion as to how they could spend their own free time. Most women of that time, I'm sure, were probably on edge 24/7, hardly able to deal with the "stresses successfully". Thus would explain how hard women have struggled to try and change the gender roles. If we had successfully dealt with all these stresses then why did we push for change? All we want is equality, not the "same sort of stresses" that would result from the stereotypical role known as "Wife". I enjoyed the essay, and felt the author portrayed the true purpose of "The Yellow Wall-Paper".

  • Girls Today

Your essay was beautiful. I think Feminism is really missunderstood now a days. Males and females take it as a joke, like its laugh-able. But the female gender needs to stand strong, even in todays world where most of humanity is blind enough to say we're equal. FAR FROM IT! Again, GREAT ESSAY! Awesome work!

Hey, your essay was pretty good, you got your point across. I agree with all the comments pretty much, especially the mormon. I love punk rock, but i also love my faith and thats what's great about punk, expressing your ideas and not giving a fuck. Good Job

  • Rasta Rasta

Hey, it was good to read about Rastafarians. I got a ton of information from your paper. As for the user comment I agree with them to an extent... Yes there is a difference between Christians and Catholics, specification. Catholics are also Christians...followers of Christ, but for ccmustangs sake you should have been more specific. And to comment directly to ccmustangs post, "Sure...you can say Christians came from Catholics...but that just means that's because their eyes were enlightened." Enlightened? oh boy...I wouldn't say enlightened at all! More like blinded. First of all you shouldn't criticize other's beliefs just because you seem so sure you've got the right ones. But since you started, don't mind if I just hop on in. One thing you do have right, your religious sect came from mine, and in my opinion you've lost out on a serious gift Catholics have, the Body and Blood of Christ.

  • Anti-Semitism and The Church

Great essay, you could tell you did a lot of research. I would have liked to hear your ideas for the suggestion you stated in the last line of your essay: "Until the Catholic Church modifies their theology that makes the Jew an object to be despised, anti-Semitism will continue to be an issue." Because I do not recall any part of Catholic theology being directly Anti-Semitic. I would leave that belief to lunatics who interpret teacherings incorrectly.

  • A Different Stand

Nice article but I disagree. The church recognizes homosexuality as a sin, and does says lets all be neighborly and loving. Anotherwards, hate the sin, not the sinner. I believe homosexuality is a sin and for the church to allow homosexuals to recieve the sacriment of marriage is impossible because it is an abomination according to Gods law. Whether a homosexual couple would like to get a marriage license from the state is a totally different matter all together. Religiously speaking, it is a sin and the church could never condone it otherwise it would be complete heresy.

  • Sounds like a hopeless romantic to me...

Hey dude! Dont worry I'm Catholic and I'm a girl, but I'm not a threat, promise! You pray and talk to God and this eases your stress, well it sounds like a close relationship with the Lord to me! lol You're on the right path, and you know it. Offer your female probs up to God, sounds like you probably already do. Welp, I enjoyed your essay! And hang in there!

  • Just a thought

Up until the end I was totally agreeing with you lol. (Although my parents never successfully got me to attend a retreat! LOL) God created us to please him, and yea everything we do in life must please him. "All for the greater good" right? right. Thats what it is. Black and white, plain as day. I believe God wants us to be happy, but I do believe everything should be for the greater good. This life should be nothing. I love God before everything in my life, that is my relationship with him. Of course everyone will experience God in different ways and at different times in their own lives. To just get to the point: why were we created? To love and adore God just as he does to us. The answer is quite clear. If you're participating in something that does not please God, then maybe it's not so worth while. Anyways just a thought.

  • Very Well Written

I enjoyed reading your paper. It was extremely well organized. One part I disagreed with (being a Catholic) was, "Muhammad began to preach the simple message that you should not worship idols as there is only one god, Allah, who has no family or partners. Not surprisingly, this conflicts greatly with Catholicism, which believes that there are three facets to the one god; God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit. This is known as the holy trinity." We believe in one God, and we also believe in the Trinity, which are the three persons in one God. The Trinity is confusing, even to a Catholic, but when you come down to it, it is a holy mystery of faith. No matter what, we Catholics believe there is just one God, just like the Islamic religion.

  • Suggestion

Read your paper. Very well written, but I would suggest being more specific for the subject of your paper at the beginning. The sentence "Taken to extremes, in the hands of an? oppressive leader, or taken-up by psychologically unbalanced persons, religion itself can be a serious risk." is a great thesis. I would move it up front to clue readers in about your point from the start.
